AMD
PC Gamers will always compare AMD and Nvidia, just how console players will always compare Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo. AMD has been Nvidia’s main rival for a long time now. Both of these companies manufacture graphics cards, and they often compete for the top spot. For the longest time, Nvidia has held the crown when it comes to high-end performance. However, AMD always offers great value in the budget and mid-range area.
All of that can change quite quickly. We’ve seen AMD give Intel a run for their money in the world of processors. We would not be surprised if AMD and Nvidia start cranking up the heat in this competition. AMD is also an American multinational company, and they are also based in Santa Clara, California.
AMD’s main product line is the Radeon series of Graphics Cards.
AMD Radeon RX and XT Series
AMD follows a similar naming scheme to Nvidia. When it comes to AMD, they have changed around their product names a fair bit over the past few years. To make things easier to understand, we’re looking at the current generation of AMD graphics cards that you can buy right now.
Radeon RX is the main product lineup name for every new AMD graphics card these days. The RX name is followed by four numbers, much like Nvidia. The first number indicates the generation, and the last three numbers indicate the model. An RX 570 is a good example.
The XT moniker is very similar to Nvidia’s TI moniker. Simply put, XT cards are faster than “non-XT” graphics cards. To make things clear the RX 6900 XT is faster than an RX 6800. Despite that, some cards like the RX 6800 and 6700 XT don’t have “non-XT” versions at all (for desktop that it is).
AMD is catching up quickly in gaming performance. Their Big Navi lineup also has support for ray tracing just like the newer RTX cards. There’s a lot of competition in the graphics card world, and that’s what gives us these great products. According to graphics card prices in Pakistan, you could go either way and get a great GPU.
